Service Description:	Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of Slate Falls Nation Tribal Council: Windigo First Nations Political Territorial Organization: Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN) Treaty #9 Provides services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates health care services through the Nursing Station Provides Physician consultations a few days per month with a visiting Physician from Sioux Lookout Provides health awareness and counselling, education and prevention workshops especially in the areas of diabetes and alcohol/drug abuse Coordinates clinics/workshops in areas that may include Diabetes, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases Offers a palliative care program when required Addresses individual health care needs by providing: Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the Community Health Nurse Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Reduces the need to travel to receive care Services and Programs: Band Office - Crisis Intervention Band Office - Extended Health Benefits Band Office - Family Well Being Program Band Office - Home and Community Care Program Band Office - Home Support Program Diabetes Program Healthy Babies Healthy Children Medical Transportation Program National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program
