Service Description:	Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Wunnumin Lake First Nation Tribal Council: Shibogama First Nations Council Political Territorial Organization: Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN) Treaty #9 Nursing station providing basic medical and health care services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates health care services through the Nursing Station; health team consists of Community Health Nurses and Representatives, a visiting Physician and Crisis Team workers Provides health awareness and counselling, education and prevention workshops/clinics in areas that may include Child Care, Diabetes, Elderly & Chronic Disease, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases Coordinates services of a visiting dentist Addresses individual health care needs by providing: Treatment of on-going health problems Emergency services Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the community health nurse Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Allows consultations for patients with specialty services such as physio, diabetes, etc Provides opportunity for workshops and education sessions for staff and patients Reduces the need to travel to receive care Services and Programs: Diabetes Program Family Well Being Program Healthy Babies Healthy Children Home and Community Care Home and Community Care - Physiotherapy Services National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program
