Service Description:
  • Administers bicultural child protection and prevention services for First Nation children and youth
  • Focus is on providing services that respect Anishinaabe heritage, culture and traditions


  • Facilitates arrangements to provide a temporary home for children who are separated from their family
    • Conducts in-depth interviews and documents all information of families desiring to become caregivers
    • Retains legal responsibility for the child
    • Provides initial orientation and ongoing training
    • Reimburses for all expenses incurred for welfare of child including living, medical, clothing, school and extra-curricular expenses
    • Provides access to a full range of therapeutic and relief services

    Application: Intake Assessment required for all programs
    Eligibility - Population(s) Served: First Nations children, and youth 17 years of age and younger and their families on/off-reserve in need of protection
