Service Description:	Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Keewaywin First Nation Tribal Council: Keewaytinook Okimakanak/Northern Chiefs Political Territorial Organization: Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN) Treaty #9 Nursing station providing basic medical and health care services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates health care services and community health programs through Nursing Station Provides physician consultations a few days per month with a visiting physician from Sioux Lookout Provides health awareness and counselling, education and prevention workshops especially in the areas of diabetes and problematic alcohol and substance use Coordinates clinics/workshops in areas that may include Diabetes, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases Offers a palliative care program when required Addresses individual health care needs by providing: Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the community health nurse Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Reduces the need to travel to receive care Services and Programs: Brighter Futures Program Diabetes Program Elder's Priority Program Family Well Being Program Healthy Babies Healthy Children Home and Community Care Maternal Child Health Program Mental Health Program National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program Referral Clerk
