Service Description:	Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek (Rocky Bay First Nation) members Tribal Council: Nokiiwin Tribal Council (NTC) Political Territorial Organization: Union of Ontario Indians (UOI) Robinson-Superior Treaty Provides services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates consultations with visiting physician from Nipigon twice per month Coordinates clinics in areas that may include Diabetes, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases Coordinates appointments with the breast screening van which visits annually Offers basic and advanced foot care clinics every 5 weeks Provides health awareness, education and prevention workshops and seminars Identifies and attempts to correct health hazards Addresses individual health care needs by providing: Intake services to determine health care needs of individual Referrals to appropriate health care providers based on information in the intake assessment Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the community health nurse Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Reduces the need to travel to receive care Services and Programs: Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative Home Health Care Program Immunization Clinic Medical Transportation Program National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program
